April began beautifully warm before cooling in it's second week, a true Victorian Autumn.
Guests have been enjoying Leila more than ever, visiting for the many things on and around the region. April's event's included a variety of beautiful, colour-changing, open gardens around the Macedon Ranges and Hepburn Shires, a number of community ANZACA services and parades, many local markets - Woodend, Malmsbury, Daylesford, Trentham, Kyneton, Gisborne, Romsey, Riddels Creek, Lancefield and the exquisite once a year Malmsbury Fayer held at the glorious Viaduct-adorned, Malmsbury Botanical Gardens. April's Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival just finishing now, with it's delicious 'Pie Trail', and there's been more happening at Hanging Rock and the region's museums, galleries, vitage markets, holiday activity and outdoor experience providers, with comedy, theatre, musical performances, art exhibitions, cultural activities walks still happening as we move into May.
At Leila, the air has become crisp at sunrise, and of an evening it's somehow more star-drenched. The leaves continue to gently make there way to the earth for a well deserved rest and a final harvest has been collected and shared from the veggie beds that are now renewed and cosy under pea-straw. Though still going, the abundance of rhubarb has been stewed along with the last fruits from the apple and pear trees whilst the dahlias at Leila continue their grand finale Autumn show before winter frosts. And the coffee has been flowing, shared with loved ones that visit withgoodies from the Malmsbury Bakery making our time in the garden together, glorious.
