October was gorgeous...

There was just so much to enjoy as the weather went from 'rather brisk' to 'less brisk', even, dare I say it,... 'gently warming'! The frosts reducing meant the warming earth gave birth to all manner of new shoots and buds and before we new it the blossom had come in giving off heady wafts of sunshine-drenched floral notes, that familiar sign-post of the season’s new fruits that are coming.

And it meant dusting off the bikes, lighting fires as the sun stayed out just that little bit longer with the days offering up a few more hours for family time outside. So that was October. It truly was gorgeous and at Leila our favourite joys began with the peartrees in blossom - bosco and ornamental - the apple trees and the Lilac trees, then this crescendoed with wedding-like blooms of white iris' - all divine. We put a few new plant-friends in the ground being two Jacarandas, and two lovely Grevillias... so I’ll check back on those with you here. October also brought us an earlier than usual chance, 'joy of all joy’s', to pop the divided Dahlias back into the soil after being boxed up on winter retreat. They’re now in, ready to start their new year of life in the gardens at Leila.

If you book, you can come and see for yourself!

We’d love to host you.

Big wishes,

Yvonne & Darren Maclean, joyfully sharing with you our

Leila at Malmsbury.
